Wallaby Terrorizes Family
July 29 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
I overheard my parents talking last night saying they felt like they were prisoners in their own house.
Apparently taking care of four dogs and one cat has them feeling a bit claustrophobic. It probably hasn’t helped that all of us, except Mothball the cat, left the house for dog school only to come back and live with them again. Hey, that’s how dogs roll.
My father is forced to walk us in the morning, at night, and if we’re lucky truck us over for a stint at the dog park. My mother takes the time to clean our rooms, our bowls and our litter boxes.
I’m not sure who’s got the better deal, but I do know I’d clean the litter box for free. Read more

Real Life Dog Glows In The Dark
July 28 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
Those crazy humans always look to up the ante on the latest and greatest inventions.
First we had Caveman Ugh, tired of eating cold food, inventing the ad-hoc ability to create fire, thereby creating light.
Then we had Charles Waximoto, the inventor of the candle, sustaining the length of that light.
Soon Eddie Son (not to be confused with the character on The Courtship of Eddie’s Father) came up with the light bulb, all so we could hear “Don’t leave the lights on if you’re not in the room!” Read more

Try to get a job in this economy and see how long it takes you.
It’s pert near impossible to get a coveted government, make work job. My brother Goliath is lucky, he has one of those. Not government related but the make work variety.
What’s his job? Read more

Smart Dog Videos

It goes without saying, I’m a clever dog.
I know that sounds cocky, but what other dog do you know that types 60 words a minute, and not like a monkey just banging away at a keyboard.
Of course, I’m not alone. Just check out the videos below for some very smart dogs.

Owney The Postal Dog Gets Extreme Makeover

A legacy that lasts longer than your physical self. That’s every dog’s goal.
That was the reason I wrote my book, the national best seller Bad to the Bone: Memoir of a Rebel Doggie Blogger. By putting paw to keyboard to computer screen, I was able to secure my place in history. Of course this presumes the Library of Congress doesn’t shut down like so many of our local libraries.
There are other, less taxing ways to stay in the hearts and minds of people the world over. Think about Rin-Tin-Tin, Lassie and of course Cujo. They’re all celluloid heroes, not to be confused by Kirsty Alley, a cellulite hero. Read more

Dog Keeps Door From Closing Video
July 25 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
The video in this post reminds me of my house.
Why? Just look at that door. When you open a door, it’s supposed to stay open. Close it, and it should shut smoothly.
Not at my house. The only thing missing in this video is the squeak the doors around here make.

Have you noticed time changes everything?
I guarantee you that what’s good for you today, won’t be tomorrow.
Take for instance one of my all time favorite treats, rawhide chewies. I loved them when I was younger, and I got plenty of them too. I’m not afraid to bark it, I got killer looks and a personality to match. Besides, my parents thought they were great for my dental hygiene, which they were…look ma, no plaque!
But all that is a memory now. From a cornucopia of rawhides to none, all in the span of a few short years. Read more

So I went out this morning to do my business only to find the grass so high I couldn’t help but pee on my leg.
I gotta say, the old man is a slacker when it comes to household chores. When was the last time he mowed the place? Probably a few weeks ago.
This wasn’t a problem in the drought days of yesteryear, but we’ve been getting evening showers lately. Grass, just add water and it grows. Reminds me of the SeaMonkey I brought to life many moons ago. Read more
Horse Falls In Pool – Water Polo Eligibility Questionable
July 21 | Hmmm...No Comments Yet
Looks like it’s turning into Equine Week.
After yesterday’s posting of a horse falling into a basement, today we have an equine taking a dip in the family pool.
Only way I can explain it is there must be something in the oats these nags are getting. Don’t get me wrong, with the heat index as high as it’s been, there is nothing more refreshing than taking a dip in the pool or heading to the coolest place in the house.
Well, nothing other than hanging in a squirrel den eating nuts all day. Read more

Horse Falls Into Home’s Basement
July 20 | 2 Comments
I don’t know why, but I have a fondness for horses.
I’ve never seen one up close, although I have had ample opportunities. I lived in upstate New York for years, residing just outside of the famed Saratoga racetrack where thoroughbreds run. Sadly, my old man never took me to a day at the races that featured a picnic for he and my mother and betting away my doggie training money.
He wouldn’t even take my bets. A shame, really, because I had a killer system. I could turn 2 milkbones into 1000 with an Exacta Box strategy finely crafted from watching hours upon hours of the OTB channel. But hey, you gotta be in it to win it. Read more
